RestoLand brings the whole array of flavours, vibrancy, and delicious dishes and juices the Caribbean have to offer to Newcastle. Food has a way of bringing people together. So, by bringing the vibrant flavours of Caribbean cuisine to Newcastle, our aim is to introduce our own rich cultural heritage to the people of Newcastle and beyond, thus, enriching the lives of the local community. At RestoLand, we are deeply passionate about limiting food waste. So, a key part of our business is to apply a zero-waste approach by donating unsold food to charities for vulnerable people. This way, unsold food will not be thrown away, but instead used to feed hungry people. So, one of our main social impacts is focusing on fighting hunger.
The name “Restoland” was given by God in a dream. We were looking for a name for the restaurant, but every name we tried on the Companies House website was already taken. We prayed on that every day kindly asking our God to give us a name for the restaurant, and one of us saw a name in a dream as follows “RestoLand” and woke up during the night and wrote it down, and in the morning, we chatted about it and said let’s find out on the Companies House website if the name was available. Yes, it was! We were very happy that God granted us a name in a dream for the business. However, given that we were still looking for a local for the business, we did not register the name straightaway. It took us three months to find a local for the business and God saved the name for us during the local search and the name was still available on Companies House Website. We registered the business under the name of RestoLand as given by the almighty God.
